🧠 Announcing something new, Is there a recession coming? and 5 cool things this week
The creator economy winter and updates from The Wisdom Project | Wisdom Letter #143
Hey there 👋
Happy to announce, that I’m starting a new podcast with my friend Pranav.
It’s called The Social Code.
It’s about the messy, complex, deeper conversations that we need to be having as a society.
The podcast covers topics that are hard to cover in a newsletter or a Tweet.
Some issues need deep, reflective conversations, and can only be addressed via a live discussion.
I’ve been having such conversations with Pranav for many years now. He’s a social scientist, Ph.D., works in academia, and I’m a practitioner, operating in the “real world”.
So our points of view differ on many things.
And that difference often brings out interesting insights.
The first series of episodes is around the idea of work and how it has evolved over time.
Right from the hunter-gatherer days to modern times.
What is the meaning of work, how it has evolved over time, and how does money come into the picture.
Check it out, and do let us know what you think. We are just starting out, so we desperately need feedback on how we can improve the podcast for you.
We’ve been discussing self-employment over the last few weeks, and looks like there’s a global recession on the way.
People are getting fired, companies are lowering their projections.
This can either be the best time to start working for yourself or the worst time 😅
Let’s see how it goes.
But one thing is for sure, the next 12-24 months are going to be economically hard for everyone.
Here’s how I’m preparing for the recession as a solopreneur:

Updates on the Writing Course
My writing course crossed 100 sales earlier this week 🥳💃🎈🎉🎊
Thank you to everyone who’s bought it 🙏
I will be raising prices from 1st June 2022, so if you were thinking of getting it, but haven’t got it yet, this might be your last chance to get the course at the current price.
Don’t miss it:
It has received a fantastic response from students so far, all 5 stars, and got reviews such as this:
PS: There’s a 30-day money-back guarantee, so you’ve got nothing to lose. If you don’t like the course, you can get your money back.
No questions asked.
Though none of the 100+ students have exercises that option yet 😅
Now, on to the 5 cool things 👇
📖 5 Cool Things
“Inspiration is the keystone of learning. It’s the engine behind a student’s motivation and the glue that makes ideas stick. But because our school system undervalues the necessity of inspiration, students don’t learn as much as they could.
Why do people learn things?
Usually, because they need to. They’re frustrated by something, either in themselves or the world.“
“For most of us, childhood is kind of like a river, and we’re kind of like tadpoles.
We didn’t choose the river. We just woke up out of nowhere and found ourselves on some path set for us by our parents, by society, and by circumstances. We’re told the rules of the river and the way we should swim and what our goals should be.
Our job isn’t to think about our path—it’s to succeed on the path we’ve been placed on, based on the way success has been defined for us.

Quitting Wall Street to become a creator | RadReads Newsletter founder Khe Hy | I Am A Creator S2E2
“Khe Hy had everything he’d dreamed of as a self-described “nerdy” kid from an immigrant family - a high-paying job in Wall Street, a fancy New York City apartment, and as many shoes as he wanted, the kind he could never afford as a kid. But he wasn’t happy.
No matter how much money he made or how many promotions he got or how many expensive things he could buy, he just didn’t feel alive.”
