I’ve been writing a mini essay every day for the last 27 days, have 3 more days to go.
It’s part of a challenge I’m doing where I publish 1 essay every day for 30 days straight. The themes are well aligned to the philosophy of this newsletter, so I feel you might like these essays as well.

You are not who you think you are.
You are not what you say you are.
You are not what others say you are.
You are what you DO.
You are defined by your actions.
Actions - both tiny and large.
Impactful and inconsequential.
Loud and quiet.
Public and private.
You are not your thoughts.
You are not your ideas.
You are not you words.
You are your actions.
Your life is nothing but a continuous chain of actions you've taken one after the other.
Since the day you were born till the day you die.
How you do 1 thing, is how you do everything.
It's easy to hide behind excuses, to get lazy, to blame our actions on our circumstances.
To say that you were "forced" to do something wrong, illegal, unethical.
To say that you had no choice.
BULLSHIT!
You always have a choice!
It is the ONLY thing you truly have. The choice to do the right thing, even in the face of adversity.
Your actions - in the face of difficulties will end up defining your life. Like or not, that's just how it is.
The world is a non-stop chain of cause and effect powered by relentless action.
Your life is mere spec in the grand scheme of things.
But whatever it's size, it's defined by the actions you take - not by the thoughts you have, or the stories you tell yourself about the actions you take.
You are not who you think you are.
You are not what you say you are.
You are not what others say you are.
You are what you DO.
