Hey friend 👋
How are you?
It’s been 3 years since we started this project. We’ve been sending this newsletter every Sunday for 157 Sundays now.
What you’re reading today is Wisdom Letter #157.
On 7th September 2019, we sent out Wisdom Letter #1
Over the years this newsletter has changed shape and structure multiple times. It went from being long-form curation to long-form creation to short-form curation.
Its evolution has pretty much mirrored our evolution over the last 3 years.
When we look back at the archive we can literally see our thought patterns changing. Through different seasons of life, dealing with different challenges - both internal and external.
It won’t be an exaggeration if I say that this newsletter has literally changed our lives for the better.
In itself, this project hasn’t seen viral growth or big revenue numbers, but it has given us a fulcrum on which to base all our pursuits.
15+ projects have evolved from the lessons we learn by sending out this newsletter every week.
Our goal still remains - Think better, live better, and become the best version of ourselves.
And we do that by improving our health, wealth, and relationships, and cleaning up our information diet.
I’m so glad that we’ve been able to help so many people achieve this goal over the years.
Someone asked me recently, aren’t you getting tired of running this project for 3 years now?
Isn’t your time spent better working on something else which can make you more money or give you more influence?
Shouldn’t you just stop working on this and move on?
As I’ve said before the pursuit of wisdom is eternal, it never ends!
Our goal here isn’t more revenue or more influence, our goal is better thinking.
In an increasingly polarized world where people live on borrowed opinions and clouded judgment, clear independent thinking is a rare skill, and also a unique superpower.
We cannot trade that for anything else.
So in that spirit of the eternal pursuit of wisdom, this newsletter cannot have an end date 😀
3 years and 156 issues in, I feel like we’re just getting started!
We’ve got so much more to do, so many different ideas, topics, and formats we want to explore. So many different ways to pursue wisdom every week.
This is a project that will keep going for as long as we can keep it running, in some shape or form.
Now, onto this week’s recommendations.
We have no external recommendations this week. Just some of our best, most loved posts over the last 3 years.

So, so proud of you two, Ayush and Aditi! I am so glad I found your newsletter, sort of by accident....
2 weeks ago, I found out about Substack via LinkedIn. It sounded too intriguing to ignore and I had to check it out. Seeing that it checked all the boxes of the kind of platform I'd been searching for, I set up an account. First, I named it 'Chariots' because it appeared as a symbol in my introductory proverb. After a few hours, I knew the name sounded too fuzzy to be effective or sustainable. So, I changed it on a whim to "The Wisdom Project." Just like that, from out of the blues. Within minutes, I had a new TWP logo, twitter header ... the full works. And that was the name for almost 48 hours!
On Day 3, I decided to search for Substack accounts with similar focus, using 'wisdom' as the keyword. And there you were -- a thriving, functional, and happy community by writers equally passionate about seeking and spreading wisdom. What are the odds?!? I took down every logo and reference to TWP so fast, I almost closed the account entirely. Now, I am enjoying the writing experience under a name that I like. And I get to connect with you and appreciate the good work you're doing, spreading quality content via your account.
Kudos for staying on for 3 years and counting. Thank you for demonstrating resilience and helping to put the process of sustaining a newsletter in perspective. I will drop by here from time to time to soak up your content. Keep up your good work, reading and writing. Blessings to you both!
